Or you could buy a Manual GPX and have 165BHP at the wheels (195BHP at flywheel) straight away - you already have the HKS which is a straight swap. Go-on / go-on / go-on / go-on / GO-ON

What does the cyborg weigh? A gpx is 1400kg (approx) and 200bhp(approx at flywheel) so 143bhp per ton

Until you hit 30mph by which time the FTO will start to hit it's stride and streak past.... :-) I know cause I got done like that by a manual GPX when I had my throttle body enhanced 205 1.9 GTI. A full car length ahead by 20mph but by 30mph the FTO had already caught me and was starting to pull away easily.....

Theres 1.5bhp in it on the power/weight front:

Cyborg weighs in at 1050kg @ 175bhp = 166.6bhp per ton
Manual GPX weighs 1200kg @ 197bhp = 164.1bhp per ton

Cyborg torque = 123lbs ft
FTO torque = 147lbs ft

While I admit to being biased, I'd agree with Shane on the above point, the additional torque on the FTO will kick in once you hit 30/40 mph and drag you forward, theres not a whole lot in it though. Ronan, methinks yourself and MfFTO should get onto the quarter mile strip sometime soon to sort this one out ;)

It would certainly be an intersting race i guess the drag from the Fto would be lower but would that really make much of a difference?

Just realised I posted the wrong weight for the Gpx (i blame this site http://www.j-garage.com/mitsubishi/FTO/spec96.html :o )

isn't the cyborg a 1.6? that's another advantage - cheaper tax (if not insurance) 8)

I'd be pretty confident I could take a Cyborg on a 1/4 mile run - I already have at least 30BHP + 24Ib ft of torque more than ronan (at the wheels) - but the real difference would be on the top-end.

Ronan - I think we should swop cars around at the next meet - may give both of us a better insight into our respective cars.

Yeah we could bring our own cars onto the track if we arrange insurance. Anyone any insurance contacts?

Its a good size track - they had single seaters here for a while untill insurance got the better of them but the pro karts are probably the best I have driven in Ireland and as good as anything I have driven in the UK.
They are also ungoverned - so a hell of a lot better than the crap karts here in Limerick.

Its 11 metres wide and at least 1500m in length - they have a back section in addition to the track shown here (before it was fully developed) - http://www.pallaskarting.com/tracks.html

BTW - There is no way I'd be rubbing doors in my FTO with anyone out on this track - Mondello it certainly ain't.

I think I'll start a new post with regards to the next meet

I seen rally cars lapping the track easily before, I think as long as you stagger the cars, use common sense over taking and dont have too many out at once it'd be fine.

Id rather go out on that track with people whom I know than mondello with the headcases in their €30 BMW's
