Wilwood brake upgrade kit

Postby kevinod » Thu May 31, 2007 9:23 am

For those who haven't seen this, FreakyParts have put together a Wilwood brake upgrade kit for the front brakes.

Kit is made up of Wilwood calipers, specially made brackets, plus 294mm Evo discs and pads all for Stg£475. New price - Stg£425!

You need steel braided brake hoses that allow you put a different banjo bolt on, if you already have one of those great, but if not they can be supplied too.

For those with an account on the Ftooc here's a direct link - http://www.ftooc.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=70692

Here's a pic of the kit too...

Looks good to me, I'm down for one anyway! :smt045

Guys,

If anyone is interested, I'm gonna find out the postage costs over to Ireland today.
With the braided hoses, they need to have re-useable ends on your hoses, if not I can get them made up for these calipers.

Any questions, let me know.

How much for a set if the braided hoses are also needed?
As mine is OE as can be at the moment.

Cheers

If I get a decent size order of the hoses, they'll be about £50 for the fronts, or £90ish for the full set.

I've just looked at the courier costs. for delivery to Northern Ireland it's £35 for 10kg then £0.85 for every kg after, for rest of Ireland it's £40 for 10kg then £1.85 for every kg after that. I estimate the package to be no more than 15kg

Have to get out the calcs again, thefreak is after getting another £50 off the price, so its now £425! I've updated the first post above.

For what its worth, as a (very) rough guide to get from pounds sterling to euro, take the figure in pounds, add half, and you're not far from the euro equivalent. Say 425 - half is 212.50, so you're looking at roughly 637.50 euro. (not including postage of course)

you want adding to the list then?
if you do, can you paypal me £100 (STG) to sales@freakyparts.co.uk the current price is £425 without hoses which works out around 627 euro plus shipping. (according to XE's site, Paypal's may be different)

This is only for front calipers/discs/pads. The back calipers would cost the same again, and if you take the % of the braking they do its not really worth it. Putting on good pads & maybe grooved discs on the back should be enough.

I paid with Paypal alright, sales@freakyparts.co.uk is the email address you need to use.

^^ What he says :)
The rears are gonna be at least that, due to the integral handbrake, those type of calipers are really expensive. So yes the kit is just for the fronts.

Will these brakes work fine with the standard master cyclinder on the GR or do we need to uprate that too? I seem to remember someone putting big brakes on a GS and they didn't make much of a difference? Just curious!
