I have been toying with putting up this post for a numbers of weeks now, not sure how PC it is gong to be.

I supplied a part to a new-ish member on this forum almost 6 weeks ago having been told the payment was sent as agreed. Part was posted to windscreen company for installation in urgency as requested.

Now here I am several weeks later, having spoke to this person numerous times on the phone, and via pm on here, all the time he has promised that the payment was sent, i even gave him my address so it could be sent via registered post.

Now the sum of money involved here is small but I think it is a matter or principle. Also I have been on the site for a number of years now and never had a problem with any of the members.
What really gets up my nose is the fact that this person is on here regularly and has purchased several items from the for sale section of this site after I sent the part out.

Very Sorry to hear that Rory, and IMO, you are right to post.
I've only been with the forum 7-8 months, and am amazed the amount of trust/honesty between members. That takes a long time to build, and one or 2 bad eggs can ruin it, and 6 weeks without payment is just not on.
I think your post is fair in that you haven't named the person, so that gives them some benefit of the doubt as such (maybe they are genuinely forgetful or something), and hopefully they will get the message this way and it'll go no further, and they won't need to be publicly shamed.
Hope this is sorted soon,
TC

Agreed, that's no good.

Whoever you are, get the finger out!

that sucks alright. I'd say they will settle up right away after reading that post though. It's a fair point u make. If you go out of your way to help someone in an "urgent" situation, you don't really expect to be dismissed.

First things first - if you enter into an agreement with a forum member to supply parts then thats between you and the buyer - I'm stating the obvious but I want to ensure we all understand that FTO-Ireland is simply a means to facilitate the sale of goods between members.

Secondly, if you (the buyer) get a part off another member in return for payment, do the honest thing and pay for what you've got. I know who Rorys reffering to and while I'm loath to get involved, I would ask that you sort out payment. Name and shame isn't my game (some Friday alliteration to get you in the mood!) so I'll leave it up to the individuals involved.

Caveat venditor applies just as much as caveat emptor - take note sellers.

Agreed - unless you absolutely know the buyer you shouldn't be sending out goods before receiving payment. Certain people will take advantage otherwise.

Doesn't help the rest of us the next time we order parts from Rory though - but I suppose thats what the likes of paypal is for.

Totally agree with you Cj, this is prob not the place for stuff like this and would have preferred not to post at all. As stated "Seller Beware".

This is more of a warning to other members to beware, some people come on forums like this soak up as mush free info as possible and have absolutely no respect for other members.

I find a site like this absolutely invaluable as a source of info and of course the odd sale or two.

Agreed, Steelroe is a valuable source of FTO parts and information and has put many a knowledgeable insight on FTO parts or problems, for all of us I'm sure. He should be payed what hes due asap.

Well still nothing from the person in question.
I brought this post to his attention via PM.

I am sorely tempted to name and shame this guy!

posted to a windscreen company you say....

small amount of money........

So it's not a windscreen, but something else a windscreen company would fit......

side window or sunroof glass I'm thinking.

This is going to be my last word on the subject.

You asked for the glass and I sent it once you said payment was transferred. You said you were with a different bank to me so I assumed it would take a few days. I still posted it eventhough payment was not received, thus trusting you. I have contacted you several times in relation to this and sent you my postal address and paypal details to forward payment incase you entered the incorrect details. I even offered to give you the bank details again and you said it was ok you still had them.

At no stage did you mention getting glass off Colm, I sent the glass to the Windscreen company as requested.
Why did you not post earlier instead of editing you original post looking for the glass.

Oh and Keith I dont take kindly to being threatened especially on such a public forum.
To be honest you are just adding more fuel to the fire.
If you just contacted me or responded to the numerous texts and PM's i sent you, made payment that would be the end of and we could all get back to what this forum is really for.

Hardly mature, you are really showing your age here Keith, cop on. If it was a genuine mistake you would have sorted this by now. I don't take kindly to good members here being threathened and I'm sure CJ won't either.

This thread should be locked I think...

Final point before this topic is locked.

I also sent you several PM's on here telling you I would Post on this episode if it was not sorted. All of which were read but not responded to.

At no stage did I mention your name of bad mouth you other than stating the facts.
