Service on tip tronic

Hey, my better half met keville in sligo the other evening, he mentioned that a tip tonic gear box had to be serviced every 4000 miles, how do i get this done as every one i ask replies "what is that?"

It's an easy enough job - Keville just meant that you just need to change the gearbox oil and filter avery 4000 - 6000 miles. Any decent mechanic with knowledge of auto's should be able to do this.

Make sure you use Dextron III tip(auto) box oil. Best bet would be to buy everything you need from camskill - you need a gearbox oil filter and about 7-8 litres (correct me here guys it's been a while) of Dextron III tipbox oil.

If you're unsure I'd get an auto specialist to do the job.

I believe the 'short drain' change requires 5L of oil while the 'long drain' change requires ~7L of oil. Do a search on this site and you'll find plenty of discussions on the topic. Like Shane says ensure it's dextron III grade oil.
