Guys, I havn't done anything on this front as I've only had 2 replies since!
If you don't want your name to appear in the register thats not a problem, just let me know.

CJ is this thing still an idea of yours? I was just browsing through posts from the beginning, sort of seeing how it all started you know and came across this. Just wondering as there are prob a lot more members now than back then would it take off I wonder?

Do you know something I don't Seb?!

5 years ago when I posted this thread, we had a lot less people on board. I've received 4 emails in 5 years (1 today) so I'm not sure if this was the most popular idea at the time.

I agree that an owners register is a good idea but its something that needs to be done right. Something like a map of Ireland whereby you can drill down in towns a cities might be an idea. A drop down list of counties is something that might also work. Whats needed he is a developer whos wiling to put the time and effort in (I do ask for assistance from time to time), frankly, I don't have the web design skills or the time right now.

If there are any web devs out there who would be interested in working on the design of a new site, do in touch. Similarly, if anyone has significant CMS (Content Management System) experience, give me a shout.

didn't spot how old the thread was.

4 years ago at work myself and another guy at work started collecting info on a spreadsheet on every new car that came into the garage,

date in, chassis and engine numbers, engine size, spec, colour, code, key number, and owner details.
I can filter out the number of blue diesel Corollas sold in Carlow in 2007 for example. it's like a secondary database that allows for filtering that our proper system doesn't.
A similar system would work for our FTO's.
