HID Problems

Well lads i bought a set of HB4 9006 HID 8k's had them in about 3 weeks and one ballast has gone already

Bought a replacement ballast from China for 17euro, and im now wondering about the full beam HB3 9005

Does anyone really bother putting 2 sets of HID's in to get the right affect?

its bloody expensive and 4 ballasts in the engine bay, i have the pre facelift FTO by the way.

It was so easy on the Mirage just bought a single set of Hi/Lo H4's and they covered full and dip beam

what have ye guys done in this area?

Not much point unless you do lots of driving in the sticks. I barely ever usemy full beams. I would probably convert front fogs to hid before doing fullbeams.

Normal hid kits won't last any time on main beams, turning them on and off isn't good for them.

Also for the dipped beams, remember when you flash your main beams when the lights are off, the dipped beam comes on too, this will kill the ballasts/bulbs quick enough.

I just found i wasn't getting great visibility on the dipped HID's and i do alot of country driving being in Wicklow and Cavan its mainly in the sticks ha ha
My fogs have a brake/indicator light style bulb in them dont know if its possible to get them in Xenon HID

but three weeks cant be right? are you using HID's what sort of time are they lasting for you? I think i had a faulty ballast on one it was tempremental a few days after fitment

You don't have fogs installed if those are the bulbs in there. They're just daytime driving units.

So i need ice white bulbs for those as well, yeah they do nothing, just a dull yellow light
