Motor factors in Blanchardstown

Postby Muad_dib77 » Mon Oct 08, 2007 1:30 pm

Am going crazy - nobody seems to be able to provide me with proper direction for Motor factors in Blanch.. I need to get new aux belts - my current ones must have gotten damaged when they flew off shortly after being fitted the 1st time cause the alternator one is already well worn..

so anyways I need new belts - but can't find motorfactors in blanch.. It's supposed to be down an alley off the main street - but where?

Anybody?

Camskill delivered mine overnight. From the UK. With a 6ft exhaust section. I was well impressed.

Yeah I was kinda hoping to pick them up today... :-) and avoid paying any shipping - I'm actually surprised it hasn't snapped yet...

(knock on wood!)

Maud,
Can't help on the motor factor issue, but FYI I picked up the p/s and alt belts the other week form a local motor factors €26 for the lot, very reasonable I thought!

I know the motor factors in blanch... In the main street in blanch village there is a 4 way crossroads with lights. right in the middle of town. Well if you head up the south road towards a church and take an immediate right down an ould lane way its down there on the right.

Worst place Ihave ever been in my LIFE!!!! they charged me 65euro for a punto battery. I had no choice though. stranded in tyrellstown and it was beyond jumping or push starting. So I got taxi down at 145 and the guy stared at me standing outside till 207pm. Just eye'd me up with a disgusted look on his face. (for turning up at 145pm and waiting outside?).
Then his young assistant walked up and unlocked the door and walked back totally blanking me. never opened the door or anything. Walked in, and they were the rudest 2 people I have ever encountered in my life. said nothing to me except "65". that was it. no thanks. no nothing. I knew damn well I was being robbed paying anymore than 45 or 50 at a push for a punto battery. no choice though. anyways... hope the directions help :D

sounds nice.. thanks... I'm pretty sure I know the intersection it's the one with the shop and the vinyard pub in it right?

I found it - dear lord..it's like a shed- with a shed attached to it..

no signs - well there was one partially covered by some scaffolding..
guy and girl there seemed fine - quite possibly cause I wasn't hovering about waiting for their break to finish ;-)

15e for one belt and 7e for the other... they don't carry gates though - so I got dayco instead... same measurements according to the bloke..

FYI, theres also a motor factors in Coolmine Industrial park (never been in the place), the nect nearest is Dunboyne Motor factors, I've heard good things about them.

Did the lads have the info to hand or did they just cross ref the Gates belts with the other manufacturer? I've used them before for servicing bits and pieces and they seemed fine.

He seemed to know exactly which ones would fit - so I'm guessing there's some system to the product numbering..

the number before the letters must refer to the number of Peaks/groove (6 = six peaks/ 5 grooves) I'm guessing the rest is lenght and/or material summat..

he took one look at my written down numbers and went straight for the shelves..

yeah the first number is the number of grooves, the other figure is the length in mm. Don't worry if the length is slightly long. I think mine was. The tensioner take it up no problem.
