Yea - I bet a GS turbo would nearly be as quick as - say - if Mitsubishi saw fit to bring out a high reving NA 2 litre V6.

Oh wait!.....

Guess what

The one in clara is actually a turbo.

My mechanic whos helped me with my heads, has rebuilt the engine 3 times. Its a terrable setup he says.

but still 1.8 turbo if somone wanted to have a car that will blow up.

If its any intrest iv been offerend another turbo setup for a GPX if anyones intrested.

Yip - Thats clear from the engine photos Dan - but as you know yourself sticking aftermarket turbo piping and an intercooler on the car isn't even half the battle - its getting it up and running / mapped reliably that will make or break a car like this.

I wuold've thought a GSR conversion would be the way to go if you had a 1.8 FTO.

i drove this car yesterday.
guy said "his sons friend bought the car off the docks and blew the engine 2 weeks later due to messing with the boost controller while not knowing anything about it. so the guy buys it and gets an engine up the north for it and fits it himself,he never touched the boost controller as he does not know enough about it.

car is cleanlooking, there is an oil pressure gauge instead of the clock, but the gauge is broken,
needs some work done to drivers window motor as it sounds shagged.
it has a terrible stock steering wheel.
somebody burned the spoiler at the weekend and ruined it.

it handles very well, this may be due to the strut braces front and back.
there does be strange noises coming from it sometimes, cant really explain but it just doesnt sound right.

bodywork is in good nick.
oh and also its a tiptronic

A bit OT, but just wondering Dan (and this isn't having a pop at your GPX), but from your research, is the GR felt to be a more reliable base for a turbo project or is there much difference?

I wouldn't take that opinion as gospel, due to the lower stock compression ratio of the 4G63, it should be easier to turbo charge than the 6A12. Dave was all set to go down this route a few years ago with the GS in so far as he had purchased all of the necessary kit from RPW.

its the one in offaly i was talking at there, as hes had to do majour bottem end work over and over on the car. and he was very dissapointed in the performance for a Turbo car

@ TC
No its not there practically the same... For example have you heard of any Turbo GR's? fact is its a turbo conversion on a car and the same work is involved...

Well in a word, yeah.
I haven't done too much looking into it TBH (hence the question), but there are at least a couple on the australian site.
