hi ho,

So anyway, as I mentioned a while back my dash around the cigarette lighter is cracked. I super glued it up though until I find a new piece of a car thats breaking. However... Last night I finally had enough of a rattle that has been annoying me endlessly. Car is perfectly oslid except for this one tinny rattle just behind me and to the right. I tapped all the panels and checked everything I could, and never found it. Last night I had enough. took outt back seat. unscrewed the inside panal thats beside where the driver side back passenger sits. could not find anything obvious. putting it back I tapped the panal and SNAP. :( oh jebus! A little 2 euro coin size break right into the middle of the panal. Nightmare. The loose piece did not fall in behind though as I think its held on a bracket or something. I dunno. So now I need that back driver side passebger wall panel and also the cigarette surround. Anyone know of breaking FTOs :x
could be worse I suppose. I was not happy thought. acting like a rolled the car I was. Its relatively very minor though.

Would think Steelroe should be able to help - certainly with the rear side panel - the centre consol will be trickier as they are usually one of the first items snapped up from a breaking FTO.

BTW - With regard to the rattle - i found that if you just round up the loose electrical wires behind both rear side panels and tie them together with electrical tape to the side of the panel that it stops what had sounded like a tapping noise as the wires are free to tap away against the panels.

I had a rattle under my rear seat untill I found a loose wheel nut floating arounf under the seat.

The most annoying rattle I had came from under the front bonnet but it turned out its a typical FTO problem where the bonnet stay rubs of the metal (you'll see the mark) - a small bit of padding under the stay and no more rattle.

HINT !

how badly is your stereo surround damaged ?
mine was in bits until yesterday when i decided i sort do it myself rather than pay huge ( and unjustified :smt108 ) money for one.

and i fix it with .....Heat/fire ( on the back so nothing can bee seen outside - even fixed my plastic for holdin the gear gator wich i broke few months ago - after superglue and everything else failed)

alternatly check this link from FTOOC ( i hope its ok to post it here)
where the fella cover his damaged stereo surround with leatherette

Hey Maud, your bidding on the part mentioned in DirtyLopez message? Don't want to get into a bidding war with u! :? Steelroe says he has this part in stock too, but I haven't been able to get him on PM or text. Will try him again Monday maybe. If not, I'll see u for some bidding. ;) hehe :)
