Agreed, I came across an AZ1 on an auction site earlier (pics below), they appear to be rare as hell, I'd say they're a hoot to drive.

On appearance alone i think I'd go for the AZ-1 but as per the blurb, only 4400 produced. I'd say cult status and prices to match. Look at the nissan figaro, I never fail to be amazed by the prices being asked. .
Next choice would be the cappuccino - looks like a mini MX5. 3rd choice would be the beat.
For something more modern you could try a Daihatsu Copen.

You're reading into this too much Mustang, I never said I was getting one They're interesting little yokes all the same. A work colleague had a Beat a for a couple of months, they're buzzy little yokes with go-kart style handling. He did mention that you need to rag them pretty hard but thats half the fun.

The Sera isn't a Kei car, it's based on the Starlet.

I remember seeing a Sera on the road - there's not many of them - they look plain enough- the only real appeal for me is the way the doors open.

Looks wise I think the Suzuki wins - ok - maybe it's a bit girly but it doesn't look as dated as the Mazda..I don't think anyways - and they both have the doch turbo 660cc engine..

for me it's the Suzuki all the way..having said that I'd really prefer an s2000 if I was to go looking at a little convertible kinda voids the whole economy and low tax idea tho..
