Warning light on Dash board.

Postby John » Mon Mar 14, 2005 10:06 am

Hi Guys,
Need some help! Does anyone know, what the warning light on the top right hand corner ( beside the speedomieter ) of the dashboard is for? It keeps coming on when i hit the brakes.

That'll be your G force meter!

Happens when you brake or turn fairly sharpish.
They came as an optional extra on FTO's - very rare piece of kit.

On a completely separate note - you may want to fill up your windscreen washer resevoir

John,

If you fill it with water it stops working - water is not good for the G force meter - it requires just a little to slosh around in the bottom of the tank to work effectively.

A quick fix is to keep the wiper stalk pulled towards you for about 5 minutes - ignore the water on the windscreen - this is just a well known manufacturer fault and your G force meter will be back in business.

This happened to me when I bought my first FTO - however the FTO Ireland forum didn't exist - I had a couple of days worrying about my TIP box exploding before I realised what the problem was.

Why did Mitsubishi bother to fit a Windscreen washer warning light - seems a waste - I haven't seen them on any other car I've owned.

Isn't it a requirement to have your windscreen washer bottle at least one third full? I seem to remember this from the rules of the road. If it's the same in Japan, it would be useful to have a warning light.

Just an idle thought.

Maybe an idea to extend the Penalty points system to cover the above blatant disregard for the law.
Theres no shortage of lunatics driving around with empty washer bottles.

Speeding - 2 points
No insurance - 5 points
No water in washer bottle - 6 points - 2 strikes and you're out!
