My accident

Postby gabico » Fri Sep 12, 2008 3:45 pm

As I mentioned in the meeting thread I had a small accident this morning when I rearended the car in front of me. I'm gutted as I was really expecting to come the at meeting. I start preparing the car from yesterday on the exterior and now...At least no one was injured and the car still drives fine
This is the result:

Its not as bad as I thought initially. What do you think? Does it look expensive? I have to start looking for parts..
Another think that I have to worry about is how much will the other party claim. I could not see any damages but who knows. I would like to keep the insurance out of this so there wont be any nasty news at renewal.
This is one picture I took but the quality is very bad, you can see some marks on the bumper:

Man that really bad luck that..

Looks like there's some bendage to the bonnet and the front wing of your car there. In order to make it look proper right it'll take some unbending, filling, sanding and spraying.. which probably wont be cheap..(sorry!)..if you want it done right anyways.

On the plus side you might be able to flog the broken headlight on eBay for a few bob, I was looking for one there recently but had no luck in finding one.

I'd say get quotes - then assess the situation..

Shouldn't be too bad is you can find a panel beater. Will be a few hundred plus the headlight - Ask Steelroe for a price for a headlight and possibly even a silver bonnet,.

Not as bad as I feared, although still a few quid to sort out. Hopefully no damage hidden behind the bumper?

Best of luck getting it sorted quickly & inexpensively!
