Generalising but here goes:-

American - sofas on wheels - very poor handling - large capacity but low output - badly and cheaply built cars - but once in a thousand years they manage to design a car like the Dodge Viper.

Euro - Classy well styled - wooly handling but good grip - adequate performance and bhp - often suspect reliability (French/Italian) but once in a thousand years they get their sh1t together and design a McLaren F1.

Jap - Appliance styling - ultra reliable - peppy engines for Cubic Capacity - economical - drab styling - underwheeled and undertyred - but once in a thousand years they come up with the goods and design an FTO.

MFFTO was almost right but he should have said Ferrari F1 rather than any of the other pale imitations that have been designed.
