Not me, shopping is bad enough without having to cross the length of the country to do it. If I lived closer then I'd have no problem saving myself some dosh though.
Agree with Bernard... I hate shopping! Did a Christmas run last year and saved a bundle, and am planning a run this year too. Lovely run in the FTO, focused me in getting pretty much all the pressies in one day. Must say I felt a bit unpatriotic, but then rationalised it by not supporting twats who raised VAT when our nearest competitors lowered theirs.
Growing old is mandatory... Growing up is optional.
If I get a clear run I can be at the big white shopping centre type thing in newry in 23min from my gaf... has to be a clear run tho..
I get my vino and all from 'up there" ..hangovers are spectacular..last I had a mate over for a couple of bottles we ended up sharing ..I think it was six bottles..a couple of cans of Bulmers..and then I spent a full day in bed, followed by two very ropey days in work...
too old...
But yes..I shall be doing ALL my xmas shopping in the North, and it doesn't bother me the slightest..sorry fellas I blame the government..

I'm heading up there on Monday to get booze for a party. Will save around €300 by doing so. Will be some party! I'd like to be patriotic but it's cheaper than going to the cash-and-carry.
I'd have no bother going there, its too expensive in the south and its not as if they're going to change the prices and reward everyone who stays in the Republic and does their shopping there. If I was at home then I'd seriosuly consider a day trip up north to do it.
I went up last year twice. It's best to go midweek if you can, no traffic. The money you spend on fuel is the same as what parking costs in Dublin city for a few hours. Think I'm gonna go up next week. Only takes 50 mins from Malahide
Booze, presents and maybe some fireworks too for Christmas or new years
