Naw, I know what I'm after now, actually I have a shortlist which includes boxster, 225bhp tt, s3 and 330ci. I've driven all but the boxster, which may be just outside my budget unfortunately. I did bag a drive in an s2000 and it was awesome but for daily driving the power was too high up the rev range - same story with the 330ci but my wife likes those so they stay on the list.... best car so far was the 345bhp s3 at motorvation - insurance with everything declared will be expensive though so that's probably out. The tt also impressed me but it would have to be black and have bose + xenons -

I've a guy who looks like he'll take the golf off me this week so the search is on in earnest now...

Hope I have not missed something obvious, but how can the power be too high for a daily driver? The more the better I think. Nothing I love more then coming home from work after a long day and getting a few blips at 9,000 RPM.... where conditions and restrictions allow of course!

Don't get me wrong, plenty of power there alright - and the noise is fantastic but as a daily driver it just felt a bit flat at lower revs - I'm probably just used to the shove from a turbo as it comes on boost from 2k rpm. The other thing was that as a 2 seater it's just wouldn't suit our lifestyle..... still an amazing car and I'd love one in the garage but not as my only car right now

We already have a Japanese Performance section here so that will have to do - I don't have the ability or inclination to start a 350Z website - there are what seem like 100's already in existance. It was on carzone - motorvation were selling it but it looks like it's gone now... it was an absolute beast of a car - but try insuring it - it's had a very large turbo fitted with forged pistons, and a few other bits plus the coilovers, porsche brakes, etc., etc.

I want MORE POWER but because of my lazy driving style it needs to come in low in the rev range - I might be getting old cause while I love the sound of a nice engine for everyday life I actually prefer having lots of power with very little noise - stealth mode

350Z has far more power and torque lower down the range which will make it feel faster in day to day driving. When you wring the S2000 out it gets much closer - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozvR3UFbkLA

IMO - 350Z for a straight line drag - nothing in it on track times though.
