Wireless cameras

Postby kevinod » Wed Nov 10, 2004 6:50 pm

Guys,

came across some guys selling some micro cameras in Douglas Court shopping centre at lunchtime today, which was incredible timing after CJs post on that guy's FTO in the UK that was torn apart.

These are small little wireless cameras you can have anywhere, and have a range or something like 600 feet. Base model, one camera and wireless receiver €99, and another model has infra-red + sound, theres a motion triggered camera, and there's a model of receiver you can connect to a PC. All you need is something that will record the images, standard VCR, DVD writer or PC I guess.

Even on the bottom of the range the quality was excellent.

They also do screens for the car, like back of seat head rest, or visors, or fold down screens if anyone is looking for a source for that gear.

http://www.microdigicam.com is the site.

Sorry if this sounds like a plug, I've no connections to these guys at all, but that post with the stripped FTO got me thinking, we have 7 cars parked in our drive at home, and ok, no €100k cars or flash ICEs or anything, and we're in the country but not a bad target for feicers at the same time...

This looks like it could be ideal to monitor the driveway. Easy to stop the car being stolen, hard to stop it being stripped, at least with one of these guys you have pics/video to give the gardai, and can nail the bastards.

Think they mentioned you can set one of these models up to give you a call and all?

Anyway, they're there until Sunday (near O Briens sandwich bar/McCauley(?)s pharmacy) if it interests anyone. I'll be thinking strongly about it myself!

Again, I'm not involved in these guys, not making anything, and they didn't ask me to advertise, but it looks spot on for an inexpensive monitoring system.

Kev.
