Theres certainly more women driving FTOs these days but I don't think that makes 'em any more of a hairdressers car. Its good to see more girls with good taste on the road!

I'm seeing more and more women driving Impreza's these days but that doesn't mean that thers a scissors in the glovebox of every Scooby...

Agreed, I think its just that more girls are into cars than before and not afraid to show it anymore. See a lot driving supras and evos as well and they certainly wouldnt be considered 'hairdressers' cars.

The FTO will never become a huyndai coupe.. for one reason alone..

the Huyndai is a terrible car to drive (I know this as I've test driven one) - I apologise if I'm offending any owners here.

I'm sure it's fab for toodling about in town, and it sure looks nice.. but - I just wouldn't go there.. not in a million years...

Oh and the one I tested was a 07 1.6 FX - the most common variant on the road afaik.

If you are a hairdresser wanting a car - get a Tigra or any of the new Pug CC s - step away from the Huyndai!

You're not missing out on much, The 2.0 is 4 speed automatic only, and the 2.7 is less powerful than an FTO GR.

Yeah I wonder how they managed to get so little performance from that unit.. I don't understand it at all.

that 2.7 engine was also on the old model Santa Fe, and I reckon was aimed at the American market.
It's one of the older generation Hyundai engines, the newer ones are much better with Continuous variable valve timing becoming standard fit.
It's amazing that this model ever made it to Ireland at all.
