I have the above that came off my GR a few years ago. It's in perfect condition and if anyone is interested give me a buzz or make me an offer. I'll post pics later

Well I thought that too initially so I put my FTO through the NCT with my PiperCross Viper on and it passed with no problems. And it's not like they didn't see it! I just saw the guy making sure the bracket was secure that's all. Otherwise I'd generate a small rental income to you guys! They could bring a law in saying, 'no performance air filters' at some point but until then it's grand.

No you wouldnt need a standard one for nct. Technically the after market ones are supposed to be a better quality filter than the standard ones, better for the engine and that. Think formula one cars use K+N (correct me if I'm wrong), so if they use them then they must be good quality. So anything that improves the quality of an engine and hence makes it safer is a good thing and safety is what the nct is 'supposed' to be all about.

Of course 'they' and our daft government would consider these 'performance enhancing' parts therefore making the car go faster and so more dangerous. So with that in mind they should all make us get bigger brakes and subsidize performance tyres for us all. ''If Carlsberg did NCT....'' ( I do see your point though man!)
