tappet problem 2

well lads...

just off the phone there to Paul Nolan....

600 euro even though i'm supplying tappets myself...

doesnt exactly sound "reasonable" but hey what can i do....

any other ideas lads?

any other reliable mechanics?

Thats far too much. Although it is a big job. Maybe he just hates doing it.

your uspply tappets, so its a GR. I would of thought replacing them was even easier than adjusting them on the GPX. Not sure though. Its a fair whack of dough alright.

Padidas, suggest you get another quote and report back on your progress. Labour does look a little pricey but you can be assured that a proper job will be done.

i've no doubts that paul is good at his job...

but he claims its a "ten hour job".. and with me supplying the tappets themselves..

i cant help but think that he's somewhat taking the piss...

surely someone here has gotten them chaged by paul before at some stage in a GR??

or anyone in Dublin who has, could they tell me where and who did them? along with the price?

Paul does come highly recommended, never heard anyone complain about his work.

But 10 hours is well over double the time it would take. Loook for someone that works on mitsi's as a lot of garages would even look at it as they dont know what is involved.

Sickens me when I hear someone wont work on an FTO, nothing special about it repair wise.

seriously? no-one has had their tappets changed in dublin before other than Paul Nolan? i've only gotten one person who's given me a number for a man in balbriggan who i've been trying to get in touch with but who's currently sick
