Wow - Massive money for a GPX Tip - never mind the fact its a classic shape - prob 97 year model.
Also note the difference between the mileage figures on the 2 ads - clocking of these cars by these particular dealers is rife - particularly Sean Byrnes -
I've seen this consistently with FTO's advertised in auction in Japan with 60K-80K miles being advertised in Ireland a couple of months later with 30K-40K miles - scandalous.
dont get me started on jap dealers here
ive seen sean byrnes auto's advertising impreza WRX sti's before and stating in their ad that the car had 1.6 on log book, what a neck eh?
Hehe, I work at Auto Trader and this exact ad came across my desk today. I corrected the "trip tronic" but unfortunately it only applies to the magazine.
Yeah on the websites it's easy to do because they usually give you an unlimited run on your ad. You're meant to mark it as sold when it sells, but some people just edit the ad to sell a different car.
However, you can't edit the make and model, so you end up with an FTO (or whatever) with the pictures and description of some other car. Seems pointless to me, since nobody who searches for an FTO is likely to buy a BMW.
Unfortunately I don't think anyone actually screens the ads on Carzone. Or if they do they definitely don't screen the edits.
