Postby roykeane » Tue Jan 17, 2006 2:47 pm

Guys and Gals have a look at his item on e-bay, (not a techno peep, so can't do the link) and see what you think. It's a 01 GX Sports and the seller calims its one of the last 150 made. Number is : 4605334324.

The covers he has got on the rear lights can anyone here tell me where I can get them?

If you really must put them on your car -then I believe that Jayfromukftooc can provide - http://www.jj-styling-online.co.uk

Personally I wouldn't let them within a mile of my car - makes the back of the FTO look really tacky.

jesus, those cars are total tack merchants
the fto looks class in its original skin without the plastic surgury,
they make lesser cars look better(sometimes)
men spent thousands of hours designing the car and then
some ejit comes along and makes it look like
something from the phantom menence
slaps should be issued all round.

I thought they stopped making the FTO in 1999?

It's a matter of personal preference really... Doesn't matter what others think..

It's your car.. if you like them - get them..

Personally I think they look a bit stick-on...Wouldn't mind something to go on the inside on the light though.. so I'd have roundy-type lights...

There seems to be some confusion on this -

I thought Mitsi made something like 160 FTOs in 2001 - Ralliart were certainly still selling them brand new in the UK at the time (for 23K GBP  )

There are a lot of 01 (Y / 51) plated FTO's in the UK though many may have been manufactured in 2000.

This is what I found on Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_FTO

Production Figures
The FTO was made from 1994 through to 2001, with a revision made, commonly known as the facelift versions, in mid 1997.
1994 - Not Known
1995 - 9,741
1996 - 2,928
1997 - 1,960
1998 - 1,033
1999 - 616
2000 - 160

Ya, but on ebay his reserve isn't met yet. Re Autotrader, you always want to advertise a car for a bit more than you want, gives room for negotiation.

How much would it cost to get rid of the bodykit and return it to the "classic" FTO look?

IMO it would be worth it.
