Alarm wont work, car wont start. HELP.

i alarmed my fto yesterday and it mad a different beep than usual when it armed. when i came back i pressed the button on the fob but the alarm wouldnt open the car or make any noise, the little red light works on the fob but wouldnt open the car. opened it using the key and started the car. power is ok all lights etc but the car was on the verge of cutting out, when i pressed the accelerator it tried to rev up but couldnt then eventually cut out. now it wont start at all just turning. so from what hapened i think its something to do with the alarm any suggestions?

Looks like the immobiliser is kicking in .


Download a user manual for your alarm from the www and search for faults in it .

Like Seb said I'd imagine its the immobiliser too. Dont ask me how to reset it though, might have to have a code or something for that.

some of the alarms have an overwriting key (button) . have you seen any attached in the wiring when you put the alarm up ?

jesus lads i have no answer to yer questions, the alarm was in it when i got it, theres a laserline thing on the keyring alright and a place to insert it into on the dash, i did that when it happened, just pushed it into the slot but nothing happened, i havent a clue about imobilisers or anything, car is at the garage at the moment as i had to have it towed so im going to ring him today and see what he says..any other info is greatly appreciated.
