A bad thing doesn't come alone ..

Postby Sebastian » Wed Apr 08, 2009 9:57 pm

cannot take it anymore. the car got damaged twice in the last 3 weeks .

found the bumper scuffed good in the font the other week more than sure a ''hit and run'' style and now i saw today the whole drivers quarter panel is dented like somebody hit it a few times with something sharp.

what kind of scum does that .
I swear you cannot keep your car in a good shape in this times . :smt093

Thats terrible Seb. Thats the sort of people your dealing with now-a-days I'm afraid. Hopefully its not too bad. I've noticed 2 dents in mine over the last few weeks. One in the drivers door and one on the passenger side rear wing. Nothing major but its still not nice to find them. Its bad enough when you do something yourself to damage your pride and joy but when its someone else that cant park their car or have the decency not to hit yours as they open their door really p**ses me off.

Thats really sh!t Seb. I had a similar thing happen in the GS. Was polishing her up one day and noticed a new crease down the drivers door where someone had obviously opened their door with some force against it.

I've taken on the same tactic as Bernard of parking at the end of the row of parking spaces to minimise the chances of some careless idiot clipping the car. Can't wait til I have my own house and a 7 bay garage.

Seb, bad luck on both counts. Its frustrating, especially when you put so much into your cars. Keep the head up, it will all work out....

I bought the missus a micra and have started using it for shopping trips and goin to work to minimise the time FTO left in car parks! FTO only really gettin used at the weekend now savin a fortune on petrol as a result.
I invested in a two way pager alarm Viper 480xv with prox sensor, emits a warning tone if anyone comes within a foot of the car.

scuff on bumper is on the facelift bumper .
dents in quarter panel ..erm .. not sure how i sort them out .

i need a new rear bumper , bracket , a new numberplate and looks like the pipes need adjustment.
still in two minds to go or not to go through your woman's insurance  .

bumper looks fine but the bracket is bended so it stays crocked .
no damage to rear lights or 1/4 panels .

thanks all.

If you go through her insurance is there a chance that the insurance company would say its a write off? You dont want that happening.
Did she have another driver with her? If not shes screwed as shes a learner I think you said, dont know what that does with insurance to another party, does it make it void or something. Hopefully not.

Gutted for ya, the car was already looking really well with even more in the pipeline! Hope you can get it sorted without too much hassle! Just be careful the learner doesn't decide to change her story or something, heard this happening to people before.

These things happen Seb. Just come to an agreement on what this lady owes you from the crash and get the lot sorted in one go.

I fitted sidesteps to the Range Rover so that anyone opening a door on the car would just be bashing it off the sidestep - I imagine sidesteps would look fairly odd on the FTO though. :)

saw your car earlier today Seb, looks like it's just the bumper and nothing worse. the missing number plate is what catches the eye.
