Fto Gr is brown bread

Postby xthe-stig » Fri Jan 28, 2011 10:22 am

I went to start my car yesterday morning and all was normal internal lights worked alarm switched off no problem put the key in the ignition and the gauges were working, turned the key and nothing not even a failed turn over. So I removed the battery and charged it and it's working fine, even tried a second battery.

Any ideas what it could be lads

Did you change the alternator since the last time you had problems?

Yep had the altetnator removed and refurbed been running great since, I was on the phone to stewy off here me brother in law, suggested giving the starter motor a tap to see if it freed it up, it did free it up and turned over a few times but not enough to start it, so im guessin tis the starter that needs doin now lol

Yep, sounds likely. Gerry or Steelroe should be able to sort you out.

Are the starter motors the same across the 2l models or are they model specific
