The best advice I can give with regard to the 1/4 mile is to loose weight from the car(or yourself) - power to weight is the key here - its much easier to gain power to weight than to gain bhp alone. I usually strip the rear seats, spare wheel and tools, boot floor and even the ICE. I also stripped the Air Con and heat shielding,unnecessary brackets and the standard seats and subframes (surprisingly heavy) etc. I had my last FTO running at around 1100kgs on the 1/4 mile.
