**!$&$*ing Multi Storey Car Parks

Postby pergau » Wed Nov 10, 2004 3:01 pm

I park in the Stephens Green Centre car park and I'm having a lot of trouble leaving the place because the angle of the ramps is so steep that unless I travel at 2mph, the front bumper scrapes off the ground.

It's really annoying, anyone else have this happen to them?

Aftermarket bumper perchance? I've never had any problems with car parks (Stephens green included) with the standard bumper and lowered suspension. Maybe its time to get the electonically adjustable Teins in ;)

Anyone with a Topmix front splitter (inc myself) will feel your pain - there are only a couple of car parks that I can use in Limerick.

Speed bumps are also a serious issue - there are some stupidly large ones out there that mean having to drive across rather than straight over them.

i would agree! just stick a larger set of wheels and higher profile tyres to solve the problem!

It's a bog standard bumper. But I hate the way you can feel the scrape vibrate through the bodywork.

Yeah - but you'll probably create a new one - like gearing and handling issues.

Afraid that adjustable suspension is the only way to go if you want to lower your car to the optimum height. I'd like to get my greedy mitts on a set of teins.

Pergau - What lowering springs do you have on the FTO?

it's not a massive difference with larger wheels and higher profile tyres, the handling on mine is perfect, and granted the speedo is out slightly it's not anything to worry about, 3% or there abouts.
