Fitting Car Stereo

Postby RussMan » Wed Sep 14, 2005 11:19 am

Hi there,

Took out standard stereo out of fto last night to put in a new one.
Used Standard iso connectors for fitting.
Having a problem! No power... well not enough power apparently to power the stereo. I know the stereo works fine as i've tried it in my own and works good. Any suggestion? The unit requires 12v DC as standard and when plugged in a light appears on the front panel when the face plate is removed so it would appear to get some power.
The previous radio in the car is using a different connector ... non iso connector which works ok.
Any help appreciated?
I plan on using a voltmeter to check that the full 12 v are available.. until then

When you say used iso connectors, did you make one up yourself, or did you get a Mitsi-ISO adapter? Thats all I did with mine and it worked no problems.

I wonder is the earth ok? If you wired it yourself recheck everything is in the right connectors and fully in, etc. If it was an adapter try to see if the connectors look ok, everything in place, etc.
