Air conditioning pump guide pulley

Postby MattMulhall » Wed Dec 23, 2009 5:25 pm

Hi guys,

About a week after I bought my 97 GPX a strange whiney dynamo kind've sound started coming from the engine bay, I've had it checked out and its turned out to be the Air conditioning pump guide pulley...tensioner. I ordered a part from Jap Parts in swords which arrived today but now it turns out that its not the right part at all. Brilliant ... I'm left without a car now for the time being, my mechanic said that if I can source the part over Christmas, he'll open shop to fit it for me.. If anybody knows where I can get one ASAP I'd be very grateful..

..emphasis on ASAP though because the longer I have to leave this the more gigs I have to turn down!

Cheers, MattMulhall

Is this the actual pulley that is attached to the aircon pump?

Can you post a pic?

I'll see if I can get my mechanic to take a picture of it next to a ruler! Didnt really see anything on Camskill apart from cambelt and alternator pulleys :|
