Porsche 928

Postby kevinod » Tue Feb 05, 2008 2:22 pm

Hi,

anyone any experience of a Porsche 928?

I've been reading up on them lately, looks interesting... Manufactured between 78 and 95, 4.5 litre engines to start with, first porky with the engine in the front...

No thoughts of replacing the FTO or anything though, just interesting reading!

Kev.

Fantastic looking GT car. Been in a couple but never got to drive one.
The circa '88 S4 model 5 litre V8 was a nice version - 320bhp but it was a little lardy.

Wouldn't mind one myself but it would be run as a classic weekend toy. I imagine the running costs would be fairly high.

Didn't Clarkson have one on one of the Top Gear challenges. He wrecked the engine in it and later had the engine made into a coffee table.

Nice car but 4 or 5 litres is a bit too much for me.

Yup, engine size is pretty huge alright and running costs would have to be significant... would just be a weekender for me if I ever did buy one.

Still though, must keep my ear open for any test-drivable models...
