[DD] Cheapish Leatherette Seats

Postby Uncle B » Tue Aug 16, 2011 8:11 am

Saw these on donedeal.

They seem decent for the asking price but the drivers side has its fair share of wear & tear.
I'm not sure how easy/difficult it'd be to fix but seeing as your getting the actual seats it makes fitting much easier and you can sell your old seats.
He sent me pictures of the driver seat if anyone wants.

I'd go for them myself only they're in Limerick and I'm still carless...

I was looking at these and was going to snap them up after his ad been up for 20 minutes but the tear put me off especially where is is located.
If you were to get that fixed it you might as well get new ones me thinks. I'd ring around and ask how much much it would coast to repair it as the rear seem to be in really good condition.

If you are going to them I can collect them for ya and drop them into ya seems im everywhere in munster now

Yea If it was just the bolster then maybe you could get someone to patch it up but it looks like it'd need a bit of an overhaul.
I wonder would RiceRocket do a single seat cover seeing as they're made to order?
Although I'd love a set of nice Recaros or lightweight racing seats

EDIT: I emailed RR just to check, thanks for the offer as well Stu 8)

These look very like the leatherette seats in my old GS, right down to the faded stitching on the rear head rest. Its tough to get the leather/leatherette seats to fit this well, normally they end up looking baggy. Well worth the effort though, I loved the look of them in my old car.

BTW, fitting (for the rear seats at least) is a very easy. The base just pulls out and there are about 4 bolts to undo for the back piece IIRC?
