Future of FTO

Postby aum108 » Thu Mar 06, 2008 1:10 pm

Hi,

I'm in New Zealand, I just got a silver '95 FTO GR at auction, just 72,000km on the clock, and $500 in parts/service later, it's now in pretty fine shape.

It's a pleasant surprise to come across this and other enthusiastic FTO communities chock-full of support and great advice.

My question is - what do people see as the future of the FTO - especially given that parts aren't getting more common, the model was discontinued nearly 8 years ago, and more and more of these fine cars are heading to the scrap metal yards?

Are we likely to see the strong interest in FTOs continue into the future, even to the point of FTOs eventually gaining a 'vintage car' status, or will the car just fade away?

Cheers
David

The majority of people that own FTO's (especially on this site) take pretty good care of them. Things are bound to go in cars but if they're well maintained and looked after then who knows, what you pay 3-5 grand for now could be worth quite a bit more in years to come!
