This is a link to getting diagnostic codes from the car. One question....

It says "we have to earth no.1 terminal.......ground out this pin......"

What does ground out this pin mean? And more importantly how do I do it?

Need to do this to check my stepper motor.....

Grondiug means toe earth it of the metal of the body somewhere. Connect a piece of wire to thet pin and ground it off the steering column
