Question about gasket parts

Postby mcgon1979 » Mon Apr 20, 2009 12:21 pm

I bought the CAT gaskets last week and they came today. http://camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid ... 62&z=34407 The only question is the ones I got are the silver coloured ones, not the dark green/gray like the photo. this might mean nothing though if the bore is correct right? I have seen on another site the silver ones for sale as MIVEC ones. anyone know anything about this?

No part number on the camskill site just photos and a check box to choose mivec or non mivec.

I think you've answered your own question mgon, the ones you've received will work just fine.

Got silver coloured ones with the Mongoose downpipes, no hassles with blowing at the cat or manifold so reckon they should be fine.

The silver one is a multilayer metal yoke got one of these in the bits that came with my blueflame system. I had to elongate the holes for the mounting bolts on the cat with a file. Simples

whoa there. If you have a GPX, make sure that's not the gasket for a GR. that's a mistake I made. they include 2 gaskets with the system. the smaller one has a smaller inside radius for the big hole too, as well as the bolt holes being closer together.

It's a while ago now but I'm pretty sure the fibre gasket that was supplied aswell wouldn't look near it. Thinking of getting a decat pipe soon anyhow and still have the fibre gasket will double check as a matter of curiosity
tried both gaskets at the time though, yeah she's a gpx. The metal gasket I used didn't have a dimpled surface like the one pictured on camskill, twas smooth.
