These wont fit an FTO I nearly bought a full set reciently but found out the callapers are too alike to do up a safe bracket and too different to just drill out.

Sadly all EVO's

You can make GTO calapers fit with a custom bracket but its not exactly safe.

A set of Wilwood big break callapers would work about 500 pounds and you have yourself a kit just as good as brembo's

Im after getting a contact while getting prices for AP racing where i can get AP racing 4 and 6 pot callapers and single or 2 piece disks from anything from 700-1500 pounds for the kits.
with new and 2nd hand callapers

Hmm, if I was keeping the VR-4 for any period of time, I'd consider them - they bolt straight on. Bit of customing required to make 'em fit the FTO, you'll need to change the hub carriers IIRC.

I Installed a set of Carbotech XP8 front pads this weekend, at £141 delivered they're pricy but by god do they bite. Best performing pads I've installed, period. Pity they don't manaufacture them for the FTO....

I'd imagine front brakes are the only ones that need upgrading on an FTO.

it is better reccomended and maybe a bigger bore break master cylinder.

still if your getting brembos
for about 150 for the callapers
150 for new disks
100 + for the brakets.

for that why not get brand new wilwood big break conversion.
callapers, mounts, disks & pads for 500 GBP

Surely it's possible to upgrade the brakes and retain the handbrake?

as far as I know there has to be a mechanical brake or the car can't pass an NCT...

CJ -> just to make sure I understand your correctly..
If I was to get a set of hubs and brakes from a vr4 they'd fit onto the FTO without too much hassle..

I can't give you a definitive answer as I don't know to be honest. Its possible - I'll find out.

The VR-4 shares the front braking system with the EVO III, I can tell you that much.

andi can tell you the rears wont work on the fto.
Adn the fronts are to alike yet too different to fit the fto without a bracket and with the bracket would be too small to be safe.

Yes the evo breaks may fit the VR4 being close enough to make fit. and the vr4 may be close enoug to make fit but the th difference between the FTO and EVO is too much.

BUT ID LOVE IF SOMONE PROVED ME WRONG :D :D

Might be wrong here but I think the front pads on the VR4 are the same as the FTO, ergo the calipers are prob the same aswell, will double check later today.

Afraid not Rory, different calipers and pads. The VR4 shares the same braking system with the early EVOs.
