Tow bar

Postby thesaint » Wed Jun 04, 2008 11:26 pm

Okay, before the abuse starts, I know it's probably not the most fasionable or respectful modification, but I need a car with a tow bar and I don't want to part with my FTO. Has anyone ever got one installed? If so where?, as with everything, can't seem to find anywhere to do it.

If anyone can point me in the right direction here, as a reward I'll post up pics when it's done for everyone to laugh at!

Okay now you can start the abuse....

looked into this myself once and actually managed to find one on ebay by sheer chance! I missed the closing bids and it went for a tenner!
Not suprisingly they are very rare and expensive. The ball hitch part is easily removable when not required.
My use was for a small (light) fishingboat. People mostly use it for towing Jetskis etc. Just wouldnt be using it for towing a sh!@*y horsebox etc!

I had one on my old GS... detachable. For town a jetski.

When you took it off you could not even see the mountings etc... good job.

Great link Adrian cheers. Bit on the expensive side but probably worth it given the fact you cant see it when the ball is removed.
