Calipers

Thinking of spraying my brake calipers red but not sure if it'll take from the look of the alloys. The red would go with the Recaros but I dont want to do it if it'll be too much or not look well obviously. So I said I'd ask the experts. For those who dont know what my alloys are;

I'd say do it.
Red calipers suit a white car, especially as you say with the red seats.
There's a few guides on here already so you wont go wrong...

Personally I prefer Blue.. but if you have recaros Red would prolly suit better..

Red caliper look really well - always an improvement over grubby unpainted ones.. ... If you want discreet you could consider silver - or dark grey..

Red would be just right There are a couple of different tones of red out there so make sure you get a real close match to those seats otherwise they'll clash. Some 'red' paints are a little orange looking.

Whoops, just bought the first red spray I saw that was heat resistant. Hope the colour works out ok.
Seems to be a unanimous verdict so. Thats my saturday morning sorted!

I'm sure it will be grand. I used Brems myself. It was really cold when I did mine around 1-5 deg C in a non heated garage and it took about 2 days to dry! I did put a lot of paint on just something to be mindful of if you need the car a few hours after. Have fun!

Knowing my totally untechnical mind and great knack of taking things apart but forgetting how to put them back together, fun is what I wont be having, tantrums maybe, and general shouting frenzies, but it'll be worth it!
Looking at how to take these bloody things off and it looks complicated to me. I'm sure it wont be so bad when I get stuck in.

A lot of people actually paint them still on! I took mine off the strut but didn't disconnect the brake fluid pipe. Ideally to do a really neat job you should remove them from the car altogether and wire brush all the dust and debris from them etc etc. Just make sure you remove the pads and metal shims etc. Common sense I know but some could forget and have pads welded to calipers!

I took mine off when I painted them, but didn't disconnect the brake line. It's really not that difficult. Actually painting them without getting it everywhere was much harder imo.

You don't need to take the calipers off - just make sure they are good and clean (+ wire brush) before spraying - just mask off the other areas properly.

Right, I'll try that, just wanted to make sure to get in behind them properly, not be leaving any spots out. Was the whole disconnecting the hose line that I didnt like the looks of but I see you can just leave that connected anyway when taking them off, just means I cant move them very far.
