If the tappets need adjusting on back banks because of a rattle at high revs is it a major/expensive thing?

Adjusting my tappets on Thursday. Wahoo... pics to follow. I bought that tool for 40 sterling off the FTO OC in UK. Yeah its pricey, but apparently makes the job handier...

You should make sure that the rattle really is just tappets before putting any money up.

When my big end went it started out sounding like a little rattle at high revs and quickly progressed into a full engine meltdown.
