An A class certainly wouldn't be my choice given the requirements but its useful as a comparison piece when talking about the likes of the A2. If it were me, I'd be zoning in on the A2 or the Focus (if more space is required).

A nice comfortable, within budget vehicle would also be a crv from the early nouthies. Easy access, plenty of space, safe. Standard 2 litre, but worth it for the other boxes it ticks. I still wouldn't throw my nose up to an Astra. It's a great car and would suit the requirements perfectly I think, with plenty of cash left over. I don't get the attraction some people have with the A2. It looks like an A4, that's been crashed into the back of a parked boat.
