Arg, gotta get a new cat.

Can anyone recommend a decent aftermarket cat for a GR?
Mechanic has been trying to get the emissions down without much luck, he reckons a new cat may be necessary.
Is this gonna hurt the pocket?

if it's just for the nct would you not just borrow someone's cat, get the test done and give the cat back???? there's plenty of people out there that have de-catted their cars and have a perfectly good cat sitting in the shed/garage for nct time.....

300 would be great. Mechanic reckons 600.

Google knows nothing. I cannot find a single place that sells cats for FTOs. Non-used.

Just get a 2nd hand one of steeroe or another breakers - It'll pass the nct and probably last the new owner a good few years. I know steelroe doens't sell tatty parts. Something like a spanking new cat wont add a load of value to a car anyways.

I had a high flow cat and it still failed. A good maechanic should be nearly able to stick any make of cat on once he knows it's working. My lambda sensor, engine temp sensor and cat was changed recently, all in for 400 euros! And yes it passed!
Give James O'Shea a ring at 01 4591630, yes only problem is he is Clondalkin. Tell him Mark with the black FTO he did recently gave you the number. He may know someone in Limerick that could help.

Seb, yeah he's not bad I have to say, straight up guy, they have gas analyzers etc. They did 'man handle' my baby a wee bit, it was a bit rough and ready, dirty carpets etc when I got it back but gave it a good clean and it's grand now :D .
He's on Monastery Road, give him a buzz and he'll give you exact directions. He is busy so you could be waiting a week to get booked in maybe!
