slightly deflated front tyres for better grip on takeoff,,, find out the optimum revs for take off also
and if you have the mivec dont change gear going into 4th let her redline for the second as youll loose time and speed changing gear

Take out everything you can, spare wheel and rear seats if possible too. And preferably no more than a quarter tank of petrol. I've never done the drag but from last year I think thats what the lads were saying when they were doing it.
Oh, and install some go-faster stripes, they could make all the difference.

Never heard of pure Octane.
If you are going to use Octane booster then make sure its a good brand like Silkolene ProBoost or similar - these will add up to 3 RON as opposed to the vast majority of so called "octane booster" that will have little or no effect. Use Maxols 99Ron fuel (95 + ethanol) and maybe add something like Silkolene or Millers.

The best advice I can give with regard to the 1/4 mile is to loose weight from the car (or yourself) - power to weight is the key here - its much easier to gain power to weight than to gain bhp alone. I usually strip the rear seats, spare wheel and tools, boot floor and even the ICE. I also stripped the Air Con and heat shielding, unnecessary brackets and the standard seats and subframes (surprisingly heavy) etc. I had my last FTO running at around 1100kgs on the 1/4 mile.

Otherwise you should run on minimal fuel - even empty the windscreen washer bottle (it all adds up), and it would help if you ran on your standard 16's or lightweight 17's - unsprung weight has an even greater effect on performance.
A healthy clutch and gearbox (change the oil) would be nice - plus getting your launch revs right and your gear changes on the money will help achieve the best possible time.

As per Dan - messing around with tyre pressure may make a little difference - Rock hard on the back (circa 40psi) and softish on the front for grip (26psi). If manual then you won't need 4th - 3rd only - Don't know about the Tip.

if you have adjustable dampers set the back rock hard and the front soft as it will stop the car leaning back upon takeoff!

Both Muad and myself have run 14.7 - 14.8 secs in Limerick - so the bar has been set pretty high. Knock yourselves out!

[Humming: You can leave your hat on/Joe Cocker]

My Special secret plan for this year (which isn't secret after you reading this).. Dieting .. yes

I've lost near 10kg this far, not too sure I can/want to get much lower without stopping eating for an extended period of time, and I still need to have the strenght to change gears ;-).

Other than that I can only repeat what others have already mentioned.

Strip the car - even the stereo, speakers, center console if you're up to it, seats, very light fuel load, decat, light weight rims, consider smaller diameter rims if you have them sitting about, lower the tyre pressure on the front - keep it high in the rears.. If you have strutbraces in - consider removing them as you wont be doing much cornering on the day ;-)..

Lettuce power :-)
