Air con "whistle"

Postby Big Dogg » Wed Apr 23, 2008 12:53 am

I've noticed lately that my FTO's aircon (well the aircon doesn't have to be on, but any air coming out) makes a high pitched whisting noise when above a few bars. Any ideas how I can get rid of this? There's no whistling at about 2/3 bars, but above that, it gets louder with each extra bar. Don't get me wrong, it isn't that loud, but I want rid of it lol.

I already checked that post out dude, but it's talking about a ticking noise; my problem is a whistling noise coming from the fans...

BD, its very likely that the source of the problem is the same, suggest you take the box apart and verify.

I know you prob done this, but a similar thing happened to me, i heard the whistling.
But are all the vents open? (and yes i know its obvious but one of the vents were closed in mine when i heard it)
I'd rather be hated for what I am,
than loved for what Im not.

Actually that seemed to be the cause at one stage, but they're all open now (unless there's a way to open/close the window vents lol) and I'm still getting the whistling.
