She's alive.. :D
Fair play Dan. I'm sure there's plenty to be done, but it must be great to reach this milestone.

You planning to get the car up and running fully before this or will you wait now to get these?

Didn't think it possible that a 2.0 litre FTO Mivec engine would be capable of putting out anything like that power without going bang - forged internals or not.

Most mivec turbos I've seen in the past have run circa 250-270bhp.

Really looking forward to seeng this FTO run - especially on a Dyno or 1/4 mile where we can see figures acheived.

Personally I think over 300 will be tricky..but fun if it work.. fair play for wanting to do it... and it seems that once you get something into your head dan you're going through with it..

You're proper nutter - and I mean that in the best way possible :-)

would you consider another white fto for daily driving?

Have you uprated the drive shafts?, that seems like a lot of power to ask standard ones to cope with :smt017

I think RBperformance sells uprated ones.. something with him snapping a few himself.. so they're about, and as far as I recall they're not a fortune..

I am thinking of getting another car but not a FTO.
something smaller.

The pistons ill gve you a price as soon as I get one but I think there different depending on your setup.

RE the 9k RPM limit.
I was playing with the idea of getting a 50BHP shot of nitros and havving it on a progressive controller and working from 8000-9000 as there would be absolutly no torque up this high in the rev range and also doubt you would get much extra BHP gains. but in terms of 1/4 mile it means less gear changes

you should just go the whole hog and get 2 x Pratt and Whitney J58s and be done with it. 8)

Respect for the effort gone into this project though. serial.

Ah no Dan - you've gotta be kidding - just concentrate on getting the turbo up and running smoothly. You're asking for trouble looking to run enough boost for 300 - 400bhp and then talk about adding a Nitros shot at high revs with no prospect of extra power high in the rev range. Keeping the mivec engine running reliably will be enough of a battle with an aftermarket turbo without adding increased stress at high revs.

As far as road based cars are concerned - Less gearchanges in a 1/4 mile won't mean a quicker car - I would say the opposite is true - closer stacked ratios keeping the car in the optimum powerband would make for a faster accelerating car.

If it was my car - I would be aiming to run a Mivec turbo at circa 260bhp at the flywheel and map it conservatively for reliability.

Remember we are talking about an engine that Mitsubishi designed to run at 197bhp - and they designed it as a high revving NA - not with the intention of running a turbo. With the kind of power figures you seem to be chasing you may have been better off with a VR4 engine and a single big turbo.

Let me guess?

You've managed to make a Mr Fusion (tm) Home Energy Fusion Reactor to power the FTO using leftover banana skins and an old edition of Flush Bus?

Got it sorted it turns out that it was the throttle position sensor< disconnected it and grand car revved all the way to 8k rpm connected it again and it limited back at 5k, so it was adjusted and now shes all sorted ust needs to be mapped
