AH MAN!!! I feckim hate when that happens and it has happened a few times... sometimes if your typing more than 5 lines you should type it in notepad, and then copy it into the forum so you still have it if something goes wrong. I've been caught like that posting on several forums. very annoying...

One of the many flaws of phpbb, mods, how long is the user session time out for?

I disagree with you here OS, I find that phpbb is a lot more reliable than some of the 'commercial' boards out there. As long as the backend database is properly maintained, problems are few and far between.

Session timout is 30mins but I'd say that Daz's problem is related to a local cookie issue as opposed to a problem with the forum - if this happens sgain, use the back button and copy the text into notepad.

Cool, 30 mins is just right.

I've had problems with these forums a lot, mainly with the server going down, or session time or bots, ok, I'll stop now :D

In saying that, I can't ever recall it happening on this forum, so keep up the good work CJ!

I`ve never had this. Once Im loged on, it keeps my details for days, even weeks and dont have to do this again. Very handy for me... just click on :forum button: and I`m in. Even when I switch between PC at work and Laptop at home it keeps me (I have to log on on both computers once)
Cheers, Tom
