At last I feel I can be part of it.............

Postby PT FTO » Sun May 15, 2005 11:28 am

Hello all,
I have been logging on to this site for about the last six months and by now I think I must have read every page of it. But now I feel I am in a position to contribute a little something. :D :D Hopefully in about 3 weeks time my first ever FTO will be parked on my drive :D :D . At the moment it is somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean (it left Tokyo on 24th April) on the back of a container ship. When it arrives (praying hard!!! ) it will be a 95' GPX Mivec, steel silver with vielside body kit. Its only got 35K on the clock so hopefully it should be ok!!
Have I made a good choice lads :?: :?: :?:
Let me know what you think :!:

Welcome PT - I hope a few other lurkers on this site will follow your example and say hello - we won't bite - well not till you come to a meet anyway. :D

Nice choice on the car - if you've chosen a manual then let me congratulate you further - theres nothing like a Mivec Manual esp when you sort exhaust and induction.

Lads, in answer to ur questions.

Marc,
I looked around in Dublin for someone to sort out the import for me but wasn't impressed with anything I found; lack of responses to mails, prices etc. :( I decided to look in the UK as I had lived over there before and was comfortable dealing over there. Found a company in Newcastle who import Jap only and hopefully if the car arrives safe and as described to me I will give you all the info you need to do your own. I don't want to give out the details now, cause if it falls through..etc....
As for the price, it will cost me £3600(approx €5200) all in, including a full service on arrival in UK and underseal etc. Have been into VRO office and VRT on 95 GPX is only €600 so total cost approx €5800. I didn't think that was too bad for a motor with only 35K on the clock but as I said we will wait and see (fingers crossed).

Sorry, its a tip but will do me as my first one anyway. Gotta learn to walk before I run.............

Yeah, Tip VRT is a lot less expensive, curious that one, probably market \ value driven.

Thats what I thought but I went back and put in manual instead of automatic and got the same amount... just tried it again now though and I got €1166, guess when I hit the back button doing it the first time it must have retained some of the info or something.

They had the market value for the tip at something like €2000, manual showing at €3889.
