If you had 1000 euro to mod your FTO...

Postby CJ » Mon Nov 17, 2008 9:46 pm

....what would you spend it on? Basic servicing aside, I reckon you could do a lot to improve the look and performance of an FTO with a grand in the hand.

My list - lowering, Blueflame quads, dials and HIDs.

Oh, good question. Starting from scratch, exactly the list you mentioned CJ.
Starting from where the car is at the moment, KMC dials and aluminium surround, a Top Mix front, D'C apron at the back, blended in and painted. Not much change from that I'd say. But... if I did, new head unit. :)

I'd modify mine to have a rear wiper. Dunno if it could be done, the hole for it is not there.
And heated mirrors, like in http://cars.gctranslations.co.uk/FTO_Mirrors.html. I'll have a look into that for real!
Also I'd add ABS and traction control like in the '97 model.

Well I'd also love to have it modified to 4WD. And add twin turbo to get some 300HP. OK, now I'm dreaming

I've been looking for these and cheapest I could find was £48. €60 more or less. Do you know somewhere cheaper?

led parking lights

Postby karlf » Sun Nov 23, 2008 7:43 pm

I like the sound of that. If any one can get a pic uploaded of them up lit up and in the dark that would be good. Where can I get these and are they hard to fit? Are they able to fit the pre-face lift model?

If you mean HID's, look for a thread in the for sale section called "Really cheap HIDs"

does this show up?

Postby karlf » Mon Nov 24, 2008 4:36 pm

Sorry for the lack of clarity there. I meant the LED parking lights. I did write that in the subject field but maybe that didn't show up. But I have been meaning to get HIDs myself, I find the standard ones very dull at times.

Found mine dull all the time.
I have the LED's fitted in my pre-facelift parking lights (on CJ's advice), and they compliment the HID's very nicely. €6 or something on ebay.
