PC to LCD

Postby steelroe » Sat Mar 01, 2008 10:02 pm

I have posted on this subject before.

My laptop has only a VGA connection (No DVI), I want to connect it to mt philips LCD that has no VGA connection, only HDMI. What are my options and will something like this work
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VGA-to-HDMI-conve ... dZViewItem

VGA only carries picture and not sound right. Not too worried if sound is off pc once I have the big monitor.

And for sound is it possible to get some sort of cable that will convert the laptop earphone connection to the L/R connections on the Converter.

have you some sort of home cinema system?
if so a 3.5mm to phono would do the trick for the sound.

I don't think that lead/adaptor you posted will do the job, as the TV will have to be switched to an AV channel to receive sound, and another AV to receive picture.
