Ok, got a new set of bluevision Philips, fitted and all the rest but one of the lights isn't working, pulled it apart and found that the connector is actually melted, this could have been from the previous bulb as that's when the problem orginally happened but there were no signs of said melting!!

right so, now i need two dipped beam headlight connectors!
any got a part number or know of anyone selling any???

oh and if anyone can suggest a reason why this happened feel free to let me know, it's only happened since i changed to the blue ones!

CAPS doesn't list an individual p/n, looks like you would have to get the control unit and wiring as one part.

I stuck in a set of blue 8000k bulbs last year, after a few months, I noticed that one of the dipped beams would only work occasionally. On investigation, I noticed that the bulb holder was partially melted to the extent that the electrical connections came loose. The bulb was obviously drawing more current than the cabling (also slightly melted) and connector could handle. I threw the bulbs in the bin and used some panel pins to realign the metal strips in the connector. I havn't had a problem since I threw in a set of modified HB4's.

yeah must have been the last set but i can't see how they could have been drawing more power than the should! they would have been the dipped ones as well!

i bought a set of the hb3's according to MyfFTO's suggestion, but the other one works fine!

I've had no problems with my 2 sets of HB3's in both the dims and the heads.
CJ - I take it you've also had problems with modified HB3's in the dims - did you just put back in the standard HB4's in the dims ?

the last set i bought we're not phillips though..... and the other light is now working fine again!

Sorry, my mistake, I meant modified HB3's to begin with, no they're working fine, absolutely no problems.

As in small nails 15mm long nails.
