I only fill up once every 2 weeks, and half the times I'm 'living the experience...'

I could be way wrong here (as usuall) but I heard somewhere that to get accurate figures it should be calculated from when the tank is a minimum of half full? As in between half way and full is when you get the most percise MPG? Either way thats very impressive. And again I could be wrong but def read it somewhere...

To accurately calculate you MPG you have to fill the tank brimful. i.e fill to the top of the fuel inlet.
Reset your odometer before you leave the forecourt. Drive until at least half the tank is gone or preferably till almost empty. Then refill back up to same level as before.

Take note of the mileage covered and also record how many litres you have just put in to fill it back up.

Then you can calculate accurately.

MPG = (Mileage Covered / litres) x 4.55
