Bouncing

Postby Damo » Wed May 10, 2006 5:10 pm

Lads, my car has started bouncing on the road seems to drivers side. I had KYB's fitted a while ago so its not them, any ideas what's causing it?

Thanks
Damo.

Bit more info needed... bouncing just as you're driving along a flat bit of road or where its bumpy?

How recently were those kybs put on? standard springs or lowered?

Maybe the spring on that side has moved out of place a little, needs to be reseated?

Dampers would be obvious reason - is there any knocking?

Just a long ordinary bit of road

Just a thought that occurred to me... did you by any chance hit any bad potholes or maybe even the kerb on that side recently? I'm just wondering if the tracking got knocked out...

Does it feel ok besides the bouncing? any vibration in the steering wheel or anything like that?

I got it tracked a couple of weeks ago because I fitted the adjustable Camber bolts, the steering is much better than it was though I'm not convinced its 100% right enough. If the Camber wasn't adjusted properly would that cause it?

I'm not sure, but if something wasn't tightened properly and came loose it might allow for some movement.

I guess it would be more vibration rather than bouncing that you'd see but I'd say particularly bad alignment could have some strange affects on the car.
