now... as I mention in some post I had my flexi pipe in fron section of exhaust cracked and car was very loud....
...and as some of you guys said that it is better to buy a new front section than repair old one whereas prices of welding I decided to fix my exhaust.

I bought a brand new flexi pipe. The orginal lenght is 390mm, but it cost €85 so there is no problem to buy a shorter one. I got 270mm for €45
and told to guys in the garage to weld in 120mm pipe to it and put this all together in place.

They politely took my advice and 3 hours later my car was done

Now I can hear my Mangoose properly :smt026

Cost?

€45 flexi pipe
€120 all mechanical works including welding
-------------
€165 and happy FTO owner :wink:

so... it`ll be 3 times less than new front section

I`ve just thought its worth to mention this

There is a pretty good equiped shop in Ashborne (~20km N2 exit) across Tesco. They usually have some in stock but if not they can order and supply next day.
And the garage? My mates recomended me one. Polish home boys. They`re really good, I saw the welds myself and no difference to the rest of exhaust, and cheaper I believe! They will be moving the garage to Finglas Ind. Est. in 2 weeks.

i assumed the garrage boys were polish , you beeing polish yourself .. it seems they work in many garages nowadays .

you presure me to get under the car but.... I`ll do this for ya :lol:

I was angry on myself that I left my camara at home. That would be good shot when car was lifted.

do you know the inside diameter of the front pipe? 63mm? Im in the process of trying to replace mine- noise is driving me loopy!

I depend from the model you have. I think GPX has 3" (?), but I bought 57mm for my GR and was OK. But i`m not sure on the diameter for GPX
